Alex looks forward to meeting all her fans in Melbourne in April 2019.
Alex will give a Q&A panel, and sign autographs throughout Saturday and Sunday.
Further information on Alex’s appearance will be listed in our Event Programme, released closer to the convention.
Alex e Clark has been self-publishing comics and zines since 2009; writing and drawing her own comics of folk tales, funnies, body horror and cats.
Graduating with a diploma of illustration in 2009, Alex made her first zine “A True Story”; a mini autobio about her childhood brain surgery. She went on to draw animatic sequences for Tripod’s Live At Woodford DVD, and a book cover for critically acclaimed Young Adult novel The Incredible Adventures of Cinnamon Girl. She also studied animation, graduating in 2016 with a 3min hand-drawn animation short Rootbound, that was screened at The Astor and ACMI.
Alex was encouraged to visit Sticky Institute to learn more about self-publishing, and tabled at her first zine fair in 2011 with some diary comics and A True Story. She has since printed thousands of comics and zines spanning eclectic topics including fairy tales, coffee addiction, neighbourhood cats, and her love of actor Lee Pace.
In 2013, Alex got involved with Brunswick Arts Space, coordinating exhibitions for hundreds of artists each year. Here she held the first Hallozeen; an annual group launch for spooky self published zines that continues to this year, her upcoming 2019 Hallozeen comic may expound on her existing research of Australian Occult author Rosa Praed.
She loves to encourage authors and artists to make the content they are passionate about. Making comics has opened her world to include so many fellow creators and she looks forward to meeting more passionate creators at this year’s Supanova.
