Acclaimed filmmaker Luke Sparke (Bring Him To Me, Occupation: Rainfall, Scurry) returns to Supanova Comic Con & Gaming this month as part of Brisbane’s Showcase Australia! line-up.
The director will treat fans to an exclusive first look at his upcoming horror film Scurry during his panel on Sunday, 12 November on the Supanova Seminars stage, followed by a signing in the guest signing area, where posters from new film Bring Him to Me (in cinemas now!) will be on offer.
As if that wasn’t enough, Sparke is offering one lucky panel attendee the chance to win a walk-on role on his next huge action film in 2024; Supa-Fans just need to attend the panel and ask a question to enter the competition (Terms & Conditions apply).
Earlier this year, Sparke revealed the trailer for thriller Bring Him to Me during Supanova on the Gold Coast.
“The fan response to seeing the first-look footage of Bring Him to Me at the Gold Coast was fantastic and so encouraging,” he said.
“I love meeting the audience and hearing feedback; it’s why we do what we do! And now the trailer has been released online, it has had the same hugely positive response. It’s a tight thriller with great performances from the likes of Barry Pepper, Sam Neill, Rachel Griffiths, Liam McIntyre, Jamie Costa, and more!”
Barry Pepper and Jamie Costa also star in Scurry.
“Fans can expect an edge-of-your-seat experience,” Sparke teased. “It’s full of suspense, heightened by the whole thing being in real-time in a ‘one-shot’ take. You are with the characters on their journey to escape tunnels beneath the surface, while being chased by something unknown.”
Sparke is excited for fans to get a first look at Scurry at Supanova in Brisbane.
“It’s so amazing to build a fanbase of friendly faces with the Supanova crowd. Each time I come back I see fans from our very first panel in 2015 and get to introduce myself to all new audience members.
“Interactions with fans are really the driving force for us and will continue to be moving forward. Some big things are on the horizon for our company and I want Supanova fans to be involved!”
Bring Him to Me and Scurry are just two of the exciting projects that Sparke currently has on the go, having recently revealed that action/thriller Fight for Your Life is in pre-production. He has also been announced as the director of Hollywood action film Shadow Chases AND is currently developing two Rainfall sequels alongside Primitive War and Weapons of Choice.
