Jess and Jana look forward to meeting all their fans in Adelaide in November 2017.
Jess and Jana will conduct a general admission Q&A, and participate in signing sessions throughout Saturday (10.30am to 5.30pm) and Sunday (11am to 5pm) in Adelaide.
About Guest
Jess Cate and Jana Hoffmann are Adelaide based comic creators. They met in 2014, bonding over their mutual love for comics, Miyazaki and mystical sea-beasties. In the last few years they have successfully crowdfunded the printing of two of their indie comics.
Their ongoing webcomic Heart of Millyera is an all-ages steam-punk adventure, featuring a cast of misfit geniuses and a powerful sea creature. Their second comic is an eight-page fable entitled Great Beasts. They continue to work together as a creative team, with a new comic due for release this year.
Jess has been reading, and creating comics since she was a teenager. After studying literature and creative writing, she began working on her own projects. Heart of Millyera is her first webcomic; a passion project which brings together all the things she loves about story-telling, namely adventure, humour and well-rounded characters.
With a deep abiding love of the storytelling possibilities comics provide, Jana can’t escape the medium despite giving it a red hot go for a while. She’s been illustrating since she could get her hands on a copy of Photoshop and self publishing webcomics since 2005.
