
Michael Owen is one of football’s most iconic figures! The former England striker, known for his incredible goal-scoring prowess with Liverpool, Real Madrid, Newcastle United, and Manchester United, set the footballing world alight in 2001 in becoming the first English player since 1979 to win the prestigious Ballon d’Or, awarded to the best player in the world. Pele also named him as one of his “100 Greatest Players Alive”. With 150 goals, Owen is celebrated for his international career, which saw him score 40 goals for England, and is still ranked as the 11th greatest goal-scorer of the Premier League.
Since retiring in 2013 Owen has transitioned to a media career and became a successful pundit and horse racing enthusiast. He has been inducted into the English Football Hall of Fame for his contributions to the sport.
