Supanova Comic Con & Gaming’s Australian Film Showcase will once again feature some of the country’s best local filmmakers and stars across Sydney (19-20 June) and Perth (26-27 June), this month.
After having Gold Coast and Melbourne audiences on the edge of their seat, shark thriller Great White will make its return in both Sydney and Perth, with screenings in each city alongside Q&A panels and meet-and-greet opportunities with various cast and crew.
Also making a return across both shows is The Possessed, with a star-studded Q&A featuring John Jarratt and Lincoln Lewis taking a deep dive into their new and original take on the exorcism genre based on Australia’s Charlie X, better known as the “Accidental Exorcist”.
If you love a good anthology series, look no further than Deadhouse Dark in Sydney, with director, writer and producer Enzo Tedeschi and more delving into the acclaimed collection of stories following its premiering via streaming service Shudder.
The team behind some of Australia’s best performing original family films and series, including the Maya the Bee Movies, the Blinky Bill CGI adaptations, 100% Wolf and more, Flying Bark Productions will attend Sydney, as they continue to work on exciting Disney & Marvel projects such as Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur and What If?, following Rise of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for Nickelodeon and the latest ongoing series for LEGO, LEGO: Monkie Kid.
Proving to be huge hit with comedy and D&D fans alike, the stars of the YouTube series 1 for All will take Sydney Supa-Fans behind the scenes of its recently-released third season. Cast members Thomas Taufan, Eva Devore, Alessia Medina and Kendall Drury will unpack its unique world, while the production team, Deerstalker Pictures, will talk YouTube and independent filmmaking in a separate panel.
Following an overwhelming response to its YouTube premiere in late May, the team behind fan film A Blaster in the Right Hands: A Star Wars Story will lift the veil in Sydney on their out-of-this-world efforts, led by director and writer Richard de Carvalh.
