Australian illusionist, escapologist and reality TV star Apollo Jackson will attempt one of his most ambitious stunts yet during Supanova Brisbane.
This one won’t land him a rose on The Bachelorette, but it could snag him a Guinness World Record. The 24-year-old magician is going to attempt to be the fastest man ever to escape from heights while suspended from a wet regulation Posey straight jacket.
That’s the same type used to transport the most dangerous of criminals! Jackson will also be suspended high above the ground, bound, chained and inverted.
Can Jackson beat that? Head to the Garrison 7 TITAN/ ILLUSIONSFX area at Supanova Brisbane at 1pm on Saturday and find out.
If bad-arse magic hasn’t piqued your interest though, Jackson has plenty more tricks up his sleeve for Supanova. He’s also there to promote new independent Australian film Garrison 7 with Gena8 Studios. The film is a thrilling sci-fi about an elite Special Forces commander, who’s targeted by an intergalactic manhunt after he uncovers a military conspiracy. It’s reportedly even better than the Bachelorette episode where Jackson went to that puppy farm.
This might also be one of your last chances to see him on the cheap before he turns into a big star. Calling it now, it will happen. Case in point, he’s in Thor: Ragnarok. And no, not just as a background extra, he’s one of the main characters. “But who? I didn’t see him in the movie?” Would you believe he plays the Incredible Hulk? Jackson appeared alongside another Australian icon, Chris Hemsworth, and was used to create the computer-generated Hulk’s body.
