Supanova Comic Con & Gaming keeps on kicking goals in 2025! Sports fans are set to become Supa-Fans on Saturday, 29 March, as international football Supa-Star Michael Owen makes a special appearance at Supanova in Melbourne (29-30 March 2025)!
One of football’s most iconic figures, Owen is a former English Premier League striker, known for his elite goal-scoring prowess with Liverpool, Real Madrid, Newcastle United, and Manchester United. Scoring over 150 goals across his international career, Michael is a recipient of the prestigious Ballon d’Or and was named among Pelé’s “100 Greatest Players Alive”.
The sporting legend will make an exclusive one-day-only appearance at the convention, ahead of the Melbourne leg of his An Evening With Michael Owen national tour, taking place after-hours in Supanova’s Cosplay Theatre at the Melbourne Showgrounds.
The sporting legend will sign Autographs throughout his daytime visit and is expected to offer strictly limited Photo-Ops pending further details still to be confirmed. His Q&A will be reserved for the separately ticketed evening event, with football enthusiasts invited to experience an unforgettable fireside chat with Michael, as he shares stories from his remarkable career.
Owen joins an already Supa-Star-studded line-up of celebrity guests en route for the weekend extravaganza. Superman & Lois’ Man of Steel, Tyler Hoechlin, leads the charge alongside his onscreen nemesis, Lex Luthor a.k.a. Michael Cudlitz, with Once Were Warriors and Star Wars faves Temuera Morrison and Rena Owen having recently signed on for the upcoming tour.
Melbourne Supa-Fans will have the opportunity to meet The Office’s Kate Flannery courtesy of Gateworld Collectables, as well as animation sensations including Attack on Titan’s Mikasa and Eren, Trina Nishimura and Bryce Papenbrook; Scooby-Doo’s Neil Fanning; and Chainsaw Man himself, Ryan Colt Levy.
Putting the “Comic” in “Comic Con”, Supanova is set to host a cavalcade of world-class creatives, led by the creator of X-Men’s Bishop, Whilce Portacio, joined by international artists Phil Noto (Star Wars Comics), X-venture’s Lipwei Chang and Redcode, as well as fan-favourite Artgerm.
