The 2019 Australian Esports League University Cup is coming to Supanova Sydney this month!
With over 800 students across 30 universities in competition, the AEL is hosting the Uni Clash, where the best teams from each university will face off in a showmatch across Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2, Rainbow Six Siege and Rocket League.
Students will also be competing in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Tekken 7 to win a spot in the 2019 AEL University Cup grand finals held later this year at Supanova Brisbane (November 8–10).
“We welcome all students to come along and compete and for everyone attending Sydney Supanova to come by and say ‘hi’, I’ll be there every day to talk gaming and esports!,” League Director, Darren Kwan said.
The AEL is also hosting free play between each match for all Supanova attendees to come along and have a go.
Ubisoft will be hosting a merchandise store alongside the AEL Esports Zone at Supanova Sydney, where you can pick up loot and meet their team, while Indomie and OVO Mobile will also have activities and goodies on offer over weekend.
The event schedule:
Saturday from 10:00am: Tekken 7 and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in the console zone.
Saturday from 10:30am: UOW, UTS and UNSW will face each other in Rainbow Six Siege.
Free play between 1:00pm and 3:00pm in the PC Zone.
Saturday from 3:00pm: UOW, UTS and UNSW will face each other in Dota 2.
Sunday from 10:00am: Tekken 7 and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in the console zone.
Sunday from 10:30am -1:00pm: UOW, UTS and UNSW will face each other in CS:GO.
Free play from 1:00pm until close.
