http://www.kandysemcclure.com/After growing up in Durban, South Africa, Kandyse McClure was working in fast food restaurants in Vancouver, Canada, and contemplating a career in medicine. On a whim, she auditioned for a role in a fringe festival play, and when she got the part her life took a very different direction!
The sold-out season saw Kandyse signed to a prestigious talent agency. Despite never having had any formal acting training, Kandyse scored show after show and learned on the job. On the popular Fox Family series ‘Higher Ground’, Kandyse took the ongoing role of Kat Cabot and put her medical aspirations on hold.
Kandyse went on to appear in TV shows including ‘The Outer Limits’, ‘Jeremiah’, ‘James Cameron’s Dark Angel’, ‘The Twilight Zone’, ‘Andromeda’, ‘Smallville’ and the TV remake of ‘Carrie’. She is currently portraying Lt. Anastasia Dualla in the Sci-Fi channel’s ‘Battlestar Galactica’.
When not on set, immersing herself in her character and loving every moment, Kandyse enjoys singing, dancing, and playing the guitar; she’s also an avid reader. When she can, she travels back to South Africa, sits on her grandmother's porch and says a little prayer of gratitude for a life of such serendipity.
