John Rhys-Davies (Melbourne only)

Acclaimed Welsh-born actor, John Rhys-Davies, is probably best known to film audiences for his brilliant roles in the blockbuster hits Raiders of the Lost Ark and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and as the beloved, Gimli, the dwarf in the three The Lord of the Rings films, directed by Peter Jackson, for which he also provided the voice of Treebeard, the Ent. He stared in the television series Sliders as Professor Maximillian P. Arturo, and has also had leading roles in Victor, Victoria, The Living Daylights, King Solomon's Mine and The Princess Diaries 2. He also had a recurring role in Star Trek: Voyager as Leonardo da Vinci.

Rhys-Davies, who was raised in England, Africa and Wales, credits his early exposure to classic literature for his decision to pursue acting and writing. He later refined his craft at London's renowned Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. His television credits include James Clavell's Shogun and Noble House, Great Expectations, War and Remembrance, Archaeology and The Untouchables. Rhys-Davies is also known as one of the live action characters in the game Wing Commander 3 and the voice of a recurring character in the animated series Gargoyles

An avid sailor and collector of vintage automobiles, John Rhys-Davies has a host of theatre roles to his credit, including The Misanthrope, Hedda Gabler and most of Shakespeare's works.



John looks forward to meeting all his fans in Melbourne at Supanova and will be appearing both Saturday and Sunday from 11.00am to 5.00pm for autograph and photo sessions* and a daily Q&A.
